The brief about these Institutions follows

St. Thomas Educational & Charitable Trust (Regd.)

St. Thomas ECT is a non religious, not for profit, public service trust which addresses to various aspects of human social life and fulfill our responsibilities towards society. It was established in one of hilly States of India ie. Himachal Pradesh during 1990s and is registered with Registrar of Societies, Government of Himachal Pradesh, India. Some of the activities undertaken by trust are:

Education to those who needs it most

     St. Thomas School, Barotiwala, HP

Way back in seventies, it was realized that education to poor is first step for their economic development. When rural poor people struggle hard to get food for their livelihood and they are hardly able to earn monthly income of less than even 20 US $, where is the ease of sending their children to Schools for education.

Keeping this in view St. Thomas E&C Trust started its first English Medium Public School in 1986 in a village called Barotiwala in Himachal Pradesh in a rented premises offered kindly by one Late Master Chhanga Ram at nominal rent of 240 $ US per annum. The area has no school even though lots of industries were starting coming up. People even then were interested to see that their children learn English.

The School from day one came with interesting facts. Parents never have seen children in uniform with tie and shoes. They did not know how to polish shoes. They did not think that nail cutting or combing of hair is a necessity. No question of any fees. No money for purchase of books and stationery. After school, students would simply throw away their uniform and shoes and play in dirt. No question of any home work. So the missionary staff turned into social worker involved in actually up liftment of the entire family. The staff guided and trained entire families in day to day shores and soon become a part of problem and frequently called upon to solve husband wife disputes etc.

Even after 22 years of establishment the school still runs on losses, because there is absolutely not only free education to physically challenged students and girl students but also free books, uniforms, free meals, free health hygiene kits etc. There is only a nominal fees of around 2 $US per month to those who can afford. The trust also runs St. Thomas School, Kalka since 2001, where in addition to formal English medium education, the emphasis is on non formal education to village people. This includes Judo/Crate, swimming, toys making, magic, music etc.

      Commitment to physically challenged

The trust recognizes that society needs to give due attention to physically challenged persons. Towards that the trust provides free artificial limbs as also tricycles, clutches. In order to put them on economic recovery path, the trust regularly organizes camps and supports them with revenue earning activities like weigh machines, tea making utensils, sewing machines, small grocery shop items, Public Call Office equipments etc.

All physically challenged students in whatsoever school in the States covered by trust activities are provide with free books, stationery, uniforms.

      Global Peace Mission

The CFAT”s President NKG’s one of the Mission is to create Global awareness on Peace and Earth Ethics.

India pioneered the movement of non violence, and Mahatma Gandhi became an international icon because of this movement. He also inspired other leaders across the globe to follow this path of peace and non violence. Today in this volatile world of intolerance and confrontation, Gandhiji’s ideals are even more relevant and applicable. Since India is Country which has given birth to some of the major religions of the world like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism and is also one of the largest Democracies of the world with high tolerance and equal rights for all, it is natural choice of nature to initiate the global peace mission.

The human greed is uppermost factor for destroying the global peace and destroying the earth. The technological innovations have been used in haphazard manner just to bring more speed, more data, and more dependence on machine than on nature. But is human being able to overcome nature. No way. Whatever Human may think and innovate, he can never create an earth, plentiful bounty of air, water and agriculture. Is there any substitute for food being grown in agriculture fields? Can human and the so called great scientist live peacefully, if earth does not exist or there is nuclear or other war all round? Can human live happily and peacefully with dumps of dead bodies scattered around him? NKG mission is to bring this awareness to world to save earth and planet.

Slowly and slowly human is discovering other aspect of his discovery and innovations. The global warming; pollution by air, water, sound; likely adverse side affects of various medical treatments; asbestos & plastic pollution; smoking hazards; drinking hazards; radiation hazards. Much more than natural water today is kept stored in bottles or tanks. Much more than natural fruits are kept as preserved. Even then are we in peace and happiness? Is there a limit fixed by human that I want to store things for this much period. Here the greed factor is coming up. Human first invents or develops some new thing and then after few years find some adverse side affect and then try to educate about way to prevent or solve that problem. What is all this? Where are we heading? The social fabric and nature of society is being step by step destroyed by human innovations. These are serious issues, which should vibrate in all human mankind.

India historically also is a land of peace and one of the first Universities’ that mankind established (Nalanda University) was on this soil. It also gave the world the first mathematician and the concept of ‘ZERO’. Now is the time to save the planet from over intelligent, over evolved and over indulgent but non tolerant beings. We ourselves have become our worst enemies.

We have invented technologies to move to other planets but are also on the verge of destroying our own. We have expanded our knowledge to such an extent in the last 50 years that it seems our entire existence before that was just a fraction of our intelligence and evolvement from now. Scientists and inventors are not working in tandem with our politicians and decision makers. This separation may destroy all our achievements of knowledge & wellbeing. We may cross millions of miles to reach moon but we are not able to cross one house to reach neighbors. Each one of us talks of social security, lawlessness; yet we ourselves do not move a inch to prevent a social crime. We speak volumes of nonavailability of water, electricity and fresh air and also go on destroying, polluting them. We talk of fastest speed of transportation whether rail or planes, yet we are not able to spare time to serve humanity and our old aged populations. We talk of fastest communications anytime anywhere yet we do hardly talk to ourselves or within our family. We go on destroying plants and do not bother to plant a single one. Where are we going? What do we want?

An integration is needed to connect all segments of the intelligentsia to save the planet. A stock broker, an economist, a metallurgist, an auto engineer should think before starting the day that how they can contribute meaningfully to save the planet on a daily basis. Our thinking process has to be ingrained with this understanding & knowledge. All our specialization should ultimately work towards this goal. An auto engineer should think before producing an engine that can achieve 0 – 100 Kms in 4.5 seconds of the damages it can cause to the environment in terms of extra fuel and Carbon dioxide emissions. By gaining a few seconds and some additional thrill we are damaging our environment permanently. He has the option of putting his efforts either developing more efficient less polluting auto engines or faster, more fuel guzzling noisy engines. A telecom engineer should think of radiation affect on society also when he thinks of innovation a new product. If he has any concern for earth ethics, he would probably rethink his priorities. He should also think of the affect of radiation on human, animals, birds and vegetation and should not leave it to somebody else to point out that radiation has harmful affects.

Nowhere in the world are all subjects connected to saving the earth and mankind. This is now the need of the hour. Our children and future generations have to be ingrained with this thought right from the beginning and whatever discipline they may choose the ultimate objective should be clear, that is to save the planet and live in harmony with others and mother nature. On a serious note one does not think on those lines in our daily work routine. On a weekend we would go to a temple, a mosque or a church, when in a congregation we would talk about well being and religion but on any given normal day what do we seriously to save the planet. This is due to the fact that no serious effort has been made in bringing awareness on this topic. We picked up these issues while traversing through life.

This should now become the new universal religion and should be propagated with the same zeal as if there was no tomorrow to save the planet.

NKG sincerely believes in developing this subject and to bring awareness in all spheres of life. The emphasis should be on Peace, Harmony and Earth Ethics. What we have achieved so far is creation of graduates from an assembly line who on passing out from various disciplines are so focused on building a career. Normally the concept of Earth Ethics, Peace & Harmony does not enter their mindset till a much later stage in life (if at all) when they realize the chaos the world is encountering. By that time their most productive work years have gone by. NKG mission is to bring awareness in all Universities, Colleges to include in their curriculum a discussion towards creating a more peaceful earth and with an additional responsibility of working towards a larger goal. NKG wishes a society where the fundamentals of co-existence and harmony with others and Mother Nature are ingrained in each child, citizen. Knowledge should become the key in fighting the menace of intolerance and mindless aggression.

Saving the planet, its flora fauna and its finite resources through Earth Ethics should become the mission of the coming generations. Peace and non-violence the next mantra. Many more Gandhis, Martin Luther Kings and the likes would be needed now to harness the nectar from the enormous cultivation we have made in every sphere of human understanding.

Let us all now work towards peace, tolerance and saving the planet.
